Wildcat artists are BACK!

Hello, hello! Mrs. Lindemann is back in action after two years living on the coast. We are loving our art time together this year so far! Here are some of the things we've been working on: 

Grade 4: Color Wheel paintings

Tissue Paper Bowls

Grade 3 had a blast making these tissue paper bowls using glue and balloons! Great job to Mr. Rackliff's and Mrs. Small's students honing in on their sculpture skills. Be sure to check out the finished products at the school art show this spring!

Many thanks to our local and out-of-state donors who helped this big beautiful rug make its way into our art room! This is Mrs. Estes' 1st grade class showing their appreciation.

States Makeover

5th and 6th grade spent the spring sprucing up the the USA map outside on the Pre-K-2 playground. Staff and students are loving the bright colors and noticed what a great community service project this is turning out to be. Some K-2 students even checked out the map while at recess for inspiration.

Great job to Mr. Wilcox's, Mrs. Young's, Mrs. Evans', and Mrs. Spencer's classes! 

Old Town Animal Orphanage Paintings

8th grade students have been working since the beginning of the year on their pet portraits of the cats and dogs up for adoption at the Animal Orphanage in Old Town. We had a memorable day on our trip there! We got to name a new kitten and even see an adoption take place. Here are some of the great paintings students worked on.

Van gogh Parodies

7th Grade is starting the year with a big painting project inspired by the impressionist painter, Vincent van Gogh. Many student chose Starry Night as their base and added their own creative twist. Some students chose other famous paintings by Van gogh as their fuel.

Great job, Mrs. Barnes' and Mr. Freeman's classes! I know how hard you worked on these. Everyone is very impressed with your professional display!

4th Grade Tie-Dye Prints

Finishing up the year with some GORGEOUS Grade 4 block prints on oil pastel. They even matted them themselves. Great work, 4th graders! 

Everyone have a summer full of both rest and adventure. And make some art! See you in the fall. 

Cardboard Challenge

Second graders have been hard at work on their cardboard sculptures! There were two rules: some part had to be made of cardboard and one part had to be moveable or interactive. Here are some of their very cool creations!

Kindergarten Hearts

In honor of Valentine's Day, our Kindergarten classes experimented with some printmaking! We cut up paper towel and toilet paper rolls to make hearts, dipped them in paint, then got to stamping. Here are some of the lovely results!
